We have over 16,000 colours mixed on the premises ready for immediate collection, offer on-premises colour scanning and free delivery services are available.

We are a stockist of Brushes, Rollers and all Decorators Sundries by Purdy, Hamilton, Premier, Axus and other top brands.

Our aim is to provide our customers with a quality service and can help you with trouble-shooting problem surfaces, colour matching, specifications and recommendations.

Introducing eco-friendly paint

New to us is Graphenstone – a range of paints composed of natural elements. For those who are concerned of the health implications of ordinary paint, Graphenstone is the solution. Among preventing mould growth, these products will also aid in purifying the air of indoor environments.

They have a beautiful variety of colours available to view in store – and better yet, we can mix the paint for you on site.

OUR STAFF

Director/Owner Pat Wallace has been with the company since 1987 and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the business.

Director/Owner Ray Horwood became Pat’s business partner in 1991, when he and Pat both took over from Mr Johnson.

General Manager Mat Crispin joined the business in January 2016. In his younger days Mat worked for his family’s general building and maintenance firm. More recently Mat has worked in Operations Management and Service Delivery.

Accounts Manager Julie Wallace joined G.C. Johnson in 1997. Julie’s accounts team includes Juliette and Bawna. Our accounts assistants joined us in 2018 and 2022 respectively.

Sales Representative Jason King had 9 years experience with County Decorating Services and Dulux Decorator Centres before joining us in 2004.

Our Paint Shop Specialists are John Crockett, Charlie Bloomfield, Natalie Masters:

John joined G.C. Johnson in 2006, having previously worked for County Decorating Services and Dulux Decorator Centres.  John has recently earned the role of Branch Manager at Buckhurst Hil

Ryan joined the team in late April 2016. Having graduated from The London School of Economics in 2015, Ryan decided to join the family business. Ryan has recently taken on the role of our online sales development manager.

Natalie joined us in December 2022. She previously worked at family run garden centre Thompsons’ in Isle of Wight.

Charlie joined us in again full time in June 2023, having previously worked for us on and off since 2018.

Phoebe Birch joined us in 2022 as Saturday staff.

Harlow Branch Manager Paul joined us in late 2020.

Reagan Swallow joined us at the Harlow branch in September 2022.

Our Drivers/Warehouse Operatives are Clive Norman (2017) and Neil Burns (2019).
